According to a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, ‘Because the Democrats have recklessly created a true National Crisis, I am using my authorities under the Law to protect our Great Country.’ The move comes as a partial government shutdown has created chaos at airports nationwide, with TSA agents working without pay while Democrats in the Senate continue blocking Department of Homeland Security funding over their demands for open-border policies, as reported by Fox News.
In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote, ‘Therefore, I am going to sign an Order instructing the Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, to immediately pay our TSA Agents in order to address this Emergency Situation.’ The shutdown began when Democrats, led by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, refused to fund immigration enforcement unless Republicans agreed to judicial warrants for immigration actions and a ban on masks for federal agents, according to congressional records from the Senate. In other words, Democrats are holding national security hostage to make it harder to deport illegal aliens.
