The FBI is surging hundreds of intelligence analysts into what the bureau is now calling a “priority” investigation into the 2020 election in Georgia, an extraordinary mobilization that underscores Director Kash Patel’s commitment to examining claims of fraud that establishment voices have long dismissed. Each intelligence analyst is expected to conduct 708 records checks by July 17, searching for what one official described as “derogatory information” to build cases against subjects of the investigation. The memo explicitly states that personnel should examine associations between people, social media activity, business dealings, travel patterns, and contact with other investigative subjects. This represents a dramatic expansion of an investigation that began in January when the FBI executed a search warrant and seized more than 600 boxes of records from Fulton County storage, including physical ballots, ballot images, voter rolls, and tabulation materials. The special agent in charge in Atlanta, Paul Brown, departed his position shortly before the warrant was executed, raising questions about whether career officials are resisting the renewed scrutiny. President Trump lost Georgia to Joe Biden by 11,779 votes in 2020, a narrow margin that has fueled persistent questions about the integrity of the count in a state that had not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1992. The investigation stems from a referral by Kurt Olsen, a White House official overseeing election integrity who has backed Trump’s claims of fraud. While the establishment media frames this as a futile exercise in relitigating the past, millions of Americans who watched election night unfold with mounting suspicion see something different: a federal law enforcement agency finally taking seriously the concerns that have been dismissed and mocked for nearly six years.
