They just can’t help themselves, can they? The secular left, particularly those entrenched in coastal power centers like New York City, seem determined to demonstrate their utter disdain for anything sacred to millions of Americans. It’s not enough for them to simply disagree with our values; they must actively attempt to diminish, distort, and ultimately erase them from public life. We saw this ugly truth on full display recently when NYC Councilman Zohran Mamdani decided to grace us with his “Good Friday message,” which, in typical progressive fashion, managed to be both patronizing and profoundly ignorant, sparking righteous outrage from Christians across the nation (via gatewaypundit).
What Mamdani did was a classic maneuver from the progressive playbook: take something deeply holy, strip it of all its spiritual significance, and reduce it to a secular footnote. Good Friday isn’t just “a day of sacrifice,” as he implied in his truncated social media comment; it’s the day of sacrifice. It’s the pivotal moment in Christian theology, where God Himself, in the person of Jesus Christ, willingly laid down His life on the cross to redeem fallen humanity. To reduce that monumental, universe-altering act of love and atonement to some generic civic observation is an insult of the highest order. It’s an attempt to remove Christ from Christianity, to neuter its power and meaning.
And make no mistake, this isn’t just about one politician’s ill-advised tweet. This is a symptom of a much deeper malady gripping the progressive left. They preach inclusivity and tolerance, but time and again, their actions expose a fundamental intolerance for traditional Christian faith. They champion every fringe ideology, every new identity, every alternative lifestyle, demanding respect and accommodation. But when it comes to the bedrock beliefs of the vast majority of Americans, beliefs that have shaped Western civilization for two millennia, they scoff, they dismiss, and they attack.
We’ve seen this pattern before, haven’t we? From legislative attempts to silence pastors to cultural initiatives that redefine marriage and gender, the objective is clear: marginalize Christian voices, push faith into the shadows, and ultimately dismantle the moral framework that underpins our republic. They want to replace God-given liberty with government-mandated conformity. And what better way to do that than by undermining the very foundations of Christian belief, starting with the sacrifice of Christ?
But here’s the thing about truth: it doesn’t bend to the whims of godless politicians. The cross of Christ stands as an eternal beacon, a testament to God’s unwavering love and justice. No amount of secular revisionism or dismissive social media posts from city councilmen can diminish its power or its meaning for those who believe. And millions of Christians across America, and right here in New York City, aren’t going to stand idly by while their faith is mocked and misrepresented. The backlash Mamdani received isn’t just “backlash”; it’s the righteous indignation of a sleeping giant waking up. It’s the sound of patriots, grounded in their faith, drawing a line in the sand.
Our founders understood the vital role that religious faith, particularly Christianity, played in maintaining a virtuous and free society. They knew that a people who fear God are less likely to submit to the tyranny of man. This is why the enemies of freedom, the socialists and globalists and radical progressives, constantly seek to undermine faith. They understand that if they can sever our connection to the divine, they can then claim ultimate authority for themselves. Mamdani’s tone-deaf message is just another brick in their wall of secular control, another shot fired in their war on our values.
But what they fail to comprehend is the resilience of faith. The Church has weathered far greater storms than a misguided tweet from a progressive politician. We are called to be salt and light in a darkening world, to stand firm on the truths of Scripture, no matter how unpopular they become in the halls of power. And when we see our Lord’s sacrifice trivialized, our duty is clear: speak truth to power, call out blasphemy for what it is, and defend the faith entrusted to us. This isn’t a culture war we chose; it’s one forced upon us by those who seek to redefine everything sacred. But it is a war we are prepared to fight, not with worldly weapons, but with truth, conviction, and the unwavering power of God’s Word.
Do you think politicians like Mamdani genuinely misunderstand Christian faith, or is their secularizing rhetoric a deliberate attempt to undermine it? Sound off below, patriots.
Providence watches over the bold.
