The Pentagon is preparing options for what military planners are calling the “final blow” against Iran if current negotiations fail, and the scope of these plans reveals just how decisively the strategic landscape has shifted in America’s favor. According to reports, the War Department is considering everything from seizing strategic Iranian islands to blockading critical oil export facilities, all while Iranian negotiators scramble to prove they’re serious about making a deal.
At the top of the list is Kharg Island, Iran’s primary oil export hub. Taking control of this facility would effectively cut off the regime’s economic lifeline, depriving them of the revenue that funds their regional terror networks and nuclear ambitions. But that’s just the beginning. Military planners are also eyeing Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iranian bases currently threaten the world’s most critical oil chokepoint. Abu Musa Island in the Persian Gulf is another potential target, along with any Iranian oil tankers that might attempt to evade sanctions.
Perhaps most significantly, U.S. forces could seize highly enriched uranium stored beneath facilities that were already severely damaged during American bombing operations in June. The message is clear: not only can we destroy your nuclear program from the air, we can physically remove your weapons-grade material and ensure it never threatens Israel or American interests again.
“Just so we set the record straight… They are begging to make a deal — not me,” President Trump stated unequivocally. “They are begging to work out a deal. I don’t know if we’ll be able to do that. I don’t know if we’re willing to do that. They should’ve done that four weeks ago.”
The president’s assessment is backed by devastating facts on the ground. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt laid out the catastrophic losses Iran has already sustained, noting that the regime suffered “the largest elimination of a navy over a three-week period since World War II.” She didn’t mince words about what comes next if the ayatollahs continue to miscalculate.
“President Trump does not bluff, and he is prepared to unleash hell,” Leavitt warned. “Iran should not miscalculate again. Their last miscalculation cost them their senior leadership, their navy, their air force and their air defense system. Any violence beyond this point will be because the Iranian regime refused to understand they have already been defeated and refused to come to a deal.”
The devastation has been comprehensive and humiliating for a regime that once boasted of driving America out of the Middle East. Their navy lies at the bottom of the Persian Gulf. Their air defenses are in ruins. Their nuclear facilities have been pounded into rubble. And now their top military leaders are being picked off one by one, with Israeli forces killing Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, along with his entire senior command staff during a precision strike in Bandar Abbas.
“Their ambitions of building a nuclear weapon have also been crushed to an even greater degree than they were in Operation Midnight Hammer in June 2025,” Leavitt continued. “That’s why you’re beginning to see the regime look for an exit ramp. There does not need to be any more death and destruction, but if Iran fails to accept the reality of the current moment, if they fail to understand that they have been defeated militarily and will continue to be, President Trump will ensure they are hit harder than they have ever been hit before.”
This is what American strength looks like in action. For years, we watched as Iran seized American sailors, funded terrorist proxies that killed U.S. troops, and marched steadily toward nuclear weapons capability while previous administrations dithered and appeased. The Obama-Biden approach of shipping pallets of cash to Tehran in exchange for empty promises produced nothing but emboldened tyrants and a more dangerous Middle East.
Trump’s approach has been radically different and radically more effective. Maximum economic pressure combined with overwhelming military force has brought the Iranian regime to its knees in a matter of weeks. They’re no longer chanting “death to America” in the streets of Tehran; they’re offering “very big presents” and begging for negotiations.
The Pentagon’s planning for a “final blow” isn’t warmongering; it’s prudent preparation. When you’re winning this decisively, you don’t let up until the enemy surrenders unconditionally. Iran has two choices: accept a deal that permanently ends their nuclear program and their regional terror campaigns, or face the complete destruction of their military capabilities and the seizure of their strategic assets.
Either way, America wins. And either way, the Iranian people get a chance at freedom from the tyrannical regime that has oppressed them for decades. That’s what happens when you have a president who understands that peace comes through strength, not through weakness.
Providence watches over the bold.
