While most Americans were enjoying their weekend, ICE agents were doing the work that the previous administration wouldn’t touch—rounding up illegal aliens with convictions for homicide, child sexual assault, kidnapping, and robbery, Breitbart News reported.
“While Americans were enjoying their weekend, ICE law enforcement was arresting murderers, pedophiles, rapists, kidnappers, and other criminal illegal aliens across the country,” a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson told Breitbart News. It’s a statement that shouldn’t need to be made, but after years of open borders and catch-and-release policies, apparently it does.
Among those arrested was Juan Mauricio Castillo of El Salvador, previously convicted of homicide by willful killing in Nevada, according to the same report. That’s the kind of person who was walking around free in America until this weekend.
The child predators caught in this sweep are enough to make your blood run cold. Juan Escobar-Herrera of Honduras was convicted of sexually assaulting a child under 12 years old in Alabama. Aung Lwin of Burma raped a child in Nebraska. Bruno Efren Santos-Gonzalez of Ecuador was convicted of sexual intercourse with a child in Los Angeles. These aren’t petty criminals. These are monsters who preyed on the most vulnerable among us, and they were here illegally while doing it, Breitbart News detailed.
The list goes on. Carlos Tino-Garcia from Guatemala, convicted of first-degree sexual assault in Nebraska. Antonio De Jesus Andrade-Ochoa from Mexico, convicted of second-degree rape in Delaware. Aenoy Panyanouvoung from Laos, a sex offender who failed to register and has convictions for assault, forgery, and fraud in Missouri. Then there’s Joel Olivio-Baez from the Dominican Republic, whose rap sheet in New Jersey includes assault, kidnapping, possession of a firearm with altered identification, carrying a prohibited weapon, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest. Francisco Meza-Cardenas from Mexico, convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in California. Christian Maximo Castaneda-Negrete from Peru, convicted of kidnapping, burglary, and violation of a court order in Massachusetts—all per the Breitbart account.
These aren’t names pulled from a hat. These are real criminals who committed real crimes against real Americans. And until this weekend, they were living among us.
“The men and women of ICE work every single day to remove dangerous criminals like these from our communities and make America safe again,” the DHS spokesperson said. “With these criminals off our streets and out of our country, it’s no wonder that crime rates have reached record lows under the Trump administration.”
That last part is worth sitting with for a moment. Crime rates are dropping. Not because of some magic formula, but because we’re finally enforcing the laws that were already on the books. We’re finally prioritizing American safety over the comfort of criminal illegal aliens.
The media won’t cover these arrests. They don’t fit the narrative. But these are the stories that matter—the stories of law enforcement doing its job, of communities being made safer, of justice finally being served. Every single one of these arrests represents a predator who can no longer hurt American children, a violent criminal who can no longer terrorize American neighborhoods.
This is what border security looks like. Not just walls and patrols, but follow-through. Finding the people who slipped through, who committed crimes, who thought they could hide in sanctuary cities or blend into the shadows. ICE found them. And now they’re gone.
How many more are out there? That’s the uncomfortable question. But for now, at least these criminals won’t be hurting anyone ever again.
